The  stunning Sintra Natural Park is considered  to be a paradise for walkers/cyclers.  The Park encompasses over 14,000 HA ( circa 40,000 acres) of terraine which stretches  from the white sandy beaches and  amazing coastline with soaring cliffs to quaint villages, vast magical forests with rare flora and fauna, an amazing array of historic sites from Hobbit style 16th century convents made with cork to opulent palaces,  gothic follies within unique parks, rolling hills and valleys with great vistas etc. etc. etc. ......

The Self-guided walking/cycling tours organized by  Colina Flora, (a comfortable, "green" boutique style B&B, rurally located in the heart of the Sintra Natural park) are customized to suit each walkers/cyclists wishes/ability/timeline.  Colina Flora provides maps, walking sticks, organizes bike rental, bottled water, snacks, lots of good advise and shuttle service, if needed to  reach trails.  Though many of the walks/bike tours begin right at Colina Flora´s front gates.

The walking/cycling can be diversified with various adventure tours from zip-ling, to riding, snorkling, surfing, dolphin watching/swimming, kyacking, hang gliding, Segway tours, buggy tours etc.  And for  even greater relaxation evening massages and Yoga sessions can be booked.  The  swimming pool area is also a great spot to chill-out at the end of the day.  The  on-site Honesty Bar offers cold drinks and the guest-kitchen makes it possible for guests to prepare meals.  But there are also many good,  small Portuguese family restaurants and cafes  nearby.  Colina Flora offers shuttle service to/from the restaurants of the quaint village of Almocageme.

There are so many trails to choose from and so much to see and experience that a week or longer  holiday can easily be filled, but a two or three day week-end is also a great way to experience this unique region of Portugal which is an UNESCO World Heritage/Cultural Site.

Due to the mild, no-frost, climate walking/cycling is possible year round.
