Hello Everyone!
We love good bread and have found many delicous varieties here in Portugal. Our absolute favorite is from the Miolo (miolo is a great Portuguese word with several meanings: “soft part of bread” and “good sense” are just two of them) Bakery in Cascais. Angela, the grand baker lady and owner, is truly dedicated and we find she bakes the best whole grain, organic sourdough in Portugal. She wholesales to several shops between Lisbon and Cascais. Her Date/Walnut bread made with whole rye flour is so delicious, I´ve been known to eat an entire loaf on the way home. This coming Saturday afternoon July 2, 2011 Flores do Cabo Gallery is hosting an opening exhibit featuring the Miolo bread. There will be lots to tantalize the senses. If you´re in the area please come.
